Why did a Japanese scientist get a Nobel Prize for claiming 3mm human fossils?

A Japanese scientist got a Nobel Prize in biodiversity after he claimed discovery of tiny fossils of humans, dogs and other mammals.

He said that at an earlier age all these life forms were much smaller than now.

http://www.palaeos.org/Chonosuke_Okamura|||It says he got the Ig Nobel Prize - a parody of the Nobel Prize.

For goodness sake, try reading something first before you make yourself look stupid.|||There's no such thing as a Nobel Prize in biodiversity. That doesn't even make sense.

That's like saying he got an Academy Award in popcorn selling.|||No. He did not win the Nobel Prize. He won the IG-NOBLE prize, which is a joke prize awarded

for questionable science.|||He got a IG nobel prize which is different from Nobel Prize.
