What has obama achieved so far that deserves nobel prize?

i think nobel prize should go to the voters of the us not obama who happened to have just been elected, and have done nothing whatsoever so far.|||Not a damn thing! People think he's great at talking, and that he'll be a great ruler. But he can't get through a sentence without a telepromter. And he's just like hitler. And the people shouldn't get a noble prize for voting for him. It's obvious that they voted for him because he's black. The should vote for PEOPLE, not black people. people are people, no matter what they look like. Voting for a blakc president doesn't say we've grown up to me. It says that we've become just as bad, in the other direction. People shouldn't be thought of as black, white, or yellow. We should be thought of as PEOPLE.|||About as much as Al Gore and Princess Di achieved when they won their Nobel Peace Prizes. The Nobel Peace Prize is often given to advocates, not achievers.





If you read the press release, you'll see that the selection committee decided to award Obama for his calls for greater international cooperation, greater efforts in diplomatic processes, and a renewed call for worldwide nuclear disarmament.|||He has done nothing in my opinion. We need to get his supporters out of office in 2010. Let me illustrate to you what I mean and why we do not need liberals and socialist in our government. Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of


a desert. Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." So


they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.





Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without


instruction?" So they created a planning department and hired two


people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do


time studies.





Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the


tasks correctly?" So they created a Quality Control department and


hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports.





Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" So They


created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer,


Then hired two people.





Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?"


So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an


Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal


Secretary.





Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one


Year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost."





So they laid off the night watchman.





NOW slowly, let it sink in.





Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter.





Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of


the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY .... During the Carter Administration?





Anybody?





Anything?





No?





Didn't think so!





Bottom line. We've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of


an agency ... the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember!

It was very simple ... and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate.





The Department of Energy was instituted on 8-04-1977.


TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.





Hey, pretty efficient, huh???





AND NOW, IT'S 2009 -- 32 YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE!





THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, "WHAT WAS I THINKING?"





Ah, yes -- good ole bureaucracy.





AND, NOW, WE ARE GOING TO TURN THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY OVER TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?|||Would you mind going back to school and learn more for yourself. I don't see that you have seem the change that has been implemented by Obama, because if you do then you won't ask such question. Would you also deny the facts on recession or improvement in foreign relation.|||He talks.





And um, tries to make peace.





And makes speeches.





..did I mention he talks?





I think it's basically a reward for being the first black president / not george bush. It's like saying "You should be rewarded cause you're famous."





Just like those popularity contests at school for prom king and queen. Only on a political level. You get what I mean?





But oh well. It IS true that he is making peace negotiations with such countries as Palestine...I mean, not that he's forsaking one of our strongest allies (COUGH ISRAEL) in doing so.|||BO made a promise to fundamentally change the United States of America.





The committee is hoping he lives up to that promise.





Unfortunately, BO's stated goal of redistributing the wealth of our country is working. Our country will be bankrupt before we can vote him out of office.|||I'm not sure about Obama. Who decides in this? I know Mother Theresa and Princess Diana were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.|||i agree with you. my question is peace?? where is the peace he has broought us. he is no bush but when our society starts looking to our government and feeling secure on it we can be strong again.|||is because of his ideology, not his doings, a politician qualifies because of his way of thinking and speeches|||he has done absolutely nothing!|||hes definitely not gorge w. bush, thats an accomplishment in itself.|||he makes stronger koolaid than any person in history.|||He showed up.|||he's not George Bush.
