Should consideration be givem to family members when the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded?

Lily Jaibo has disappeared, since her husband (Liu Jaibo) was awarded the Nobel Peace prise.


Apparently the Chinese authorities warned the Nobel Prize committee of problems, should be awarded the Peace Prize. I'm not against the decision, but surely one should take into consideration the reactions.|||No, they should not. The Peace Prize is awarded in recognition of an individual's achievement. Were the committee to consider the potential consequences, they would be left vulnerable to outside influences on their supposedly objective decision-making process.
