As you may know our president has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Why do you believe he won?|||This question has been asked a hundred times already. by myself and other people. He didn't win it. He got it for his views and speeches, not for actually doing anything. He was elected for winning the prize less than 2 weeks after his inauguration, the prize is a joke and a political tool. In the past it actually meant something, not anymore..|||because he got selected and this is really really old news|||It was a political payoff plain and simple a boot licking and display of disgusting butt kissing by the Norwegians.|||He lost the Olympics and needed this to save face. It is all a conspiracy.|||This shows how fair are the noble prize committee in selecting the deserving candidate. Now I know that noble prize is just rubbish. In my opinion it has lost its value.|||This was to encourage the world's most powerful man to bring peace, and not wars, like Bush had done.|||He did not win it, it was given to him. Just as his university degrees were, and his electoral victories.
Enlightend: HA HA HA! Yeah, that's a good reason. So it's like one of those self-esteem awards to make the fat kids feel good even when they come in last in the 100 yard dash?

In any circumstance it is not what is done but
how it's done, too many foreign nations did'nt
like the way they were treated by the past Admin-
istration and some viewed America as a bullying nation. President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize because he understood that it is his civic
duty to reason with heads of state and listen to
their take on things in order to bring peace and
have a happy medium between countries using
this appoach and it works. The Nobel Peace
Prize is not given to anybody for nothing it is
based on merit. His efforts to win the Olympic
sports for the US brought him the Peace Prize
instead and that is an achievement in itself.
